Rebels get tricky in loss

Ole Miss pulled out all of the stops on Saturday against the Georgia Bulldogs and successfully executed all three trick plays.

Unfortunately for the Rebels, the game was won on more than a trick pass, an onside kick and a nifty reverse on a punt return.

That being said, however, freshman Nickolas Brassell did prove that he can be counted on as the big-play threat the coaching staff thought they were getting when they recruited him from South Panola last year.

Trailing 24-7, sophomore Jeff Scott fielded a soaring punt from Georgia punter Drew Butler, began running to his right, then stuck the ball into the stomach of Brassell, who was running back across the field towards Georgia’s sideline.

Brassell took the handoff and was able to maneuver his way down the Bulldogs’ sideline behind an army of blockers 81 yards for a touchdown. (September 26, 2011, Page 1B)
