Nutt to wear Coach to Cure MD patch

BLOG — Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt will be one of several football coaches from the state and nation that will be wearing Coach to Cure MD patches on their arms on Saturday.Nutt’s Rebels will host the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday morning at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. A total of 109 out the 120 FBS schools are scheduled to take part in the Coach to Cure MD week, which raises awareness for muscular dystrophy in the country. All 11 of the teams in the SEC that will be playing this week — Tennessee is off — will be wearing patches Saturday. Southern Miss coach Larry Fedora is also going to wear a patch.

This is the fourth year of Coach to Cure MD, a partnership between the American Football Coaches Association and Parent Project MD. The program will top $1 million in donations this season for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Fans are encouraged to donate $5 by texting the word Cure to 90999 or they can donate online at www.CoachtoCureMD.org. (September 23, 2011)
