Forward Rebels no longer a nonprofit organization

BLOG — According to information obtained from the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office, the organization known as Forward Rebels is no longer listed as a nonprofit organization. The group was officially dissolved of its status as a non-profit organization Thursday at noon, according to office documents. The date the organization was created was April 4, 2011. James D. Harper of Oxford was listed as the registering agent and officer of the organization, while Dr. David Bridgers, also of Oxford, was listed in the paperwork and was one of the founding members according to the documentation. Harper’s signature appears on the paperwork asking for the dissolution of the nonprofit status.

Based on the information listed, it appears both Harper and Bridgers have distanced themselves from the group, which has placed weekly ads in the Eagle, Clarion Ledger, Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, Hattiesburg American, The Commercial Appeal in Memphis and the Biloxi Sun Herald asking for changes in Ole Miss administration, with an emphasis on athletics. (September 30, 2011)

Thank you for getting this out. The Forward Rebels and the motive in its current form and leadership should be investigated. Since they are dissolved, they should shutdown their Facebook page and “Corporate” Website immediately. Removing the link to the Donations page is not sufficient since that link is still active. They have lost ALL credibility. But there is another organization that collects donations on behalf of The Forward Rebels whose donation link is still active.

      GLAD IT IS GONE!!

It’s funny how Ole Miss spends more money buying out coaches than they do paying them. A new coach isn’t what is needed. What is needed is to keep the recruits out of trouble. Nutt can only work with what he has and can only coach so much. It is ultimately up to the players to execute. If the receivers cannot catch the ball, you don’t blame the coach, you nail the player. Changing coaches every 3-5 years isn’t going to fix anything. Think of this, who the hell is going to come to Ole Miss and coach knowing they are sealing their fate and career. Who are they gonna get that is any better. It is not the coaches that is the problem, it is the quality of players. The great ones can’t stay out of trouble long enough to matter. It is what it is…. Stop making it something that it isn’t. Living in the past gets you nowhere. Come to Ole Miss, we value traditions and excellence…. Um, ok. Traditions? Hardly… We jump at every persons demands that doesn’t like something. If you don’t like what something stands for at a certain university, go somewhere else. A recent survey was done based on the satisfaction with the University from Alumni, parents, and current students. The study showed that 8 out of 10 people will soon cease to support the University because it has been ruined. It stands for nothing it once did. It used to be a great thing to say that you were from Ole Miss. Not now…. People constantly want to change the way things are. Try that mess at LSU, Auburn, Alabama and see how far that gets you. If you don’t like something about the school, go somewhere else. Black bears, REALLY? Come on, give me a break. We are the laughing stock of the SEC and the rest of the college world. We so often jump to be ‘PC’ about everything. Ole Miss is soon to be in a hurting way. They have increasingly and overwhelmingly destroyed the meaning of what it meant to attend the University of Mississippi. The long traditions routed in the pride of being an Ole Miss Rebel are over. Sure, people will continue to carry on at Ole Miss. It will soon fall into the categories that the other smaller state funded institutions that also are without Alumni Support. The Alumni isn’t happy and that is plain to see. It’s not just the athletic program that has some issues. In this day in age, it is everything. If you bite the hands that feed you, eventually you will starve. TCT-
