Dean races Chargers past Warriors

BLOG: The Oxford Chargers have had ups and downs this season but the one constant has been the bruising rushing attack supplied Mont Dean.

Friday’s game was no different as the senior running back collected five touchdowns en route to a 40-20 victory over the Senatobia Warriors at Bobby Holcomb field.Dean got the scoring started in the first quarter with an 18-yard run and would later add scoring runs of 79 yards, 10 yards and two 1-yard dashes.

After Joel Forrester recovered a fumbled snap by Senatobia quarterback Tevin Wink, Oxford quarterback Parker Adamson got involved in the scoring seven plays later when he hooked up with receiver Stan Ivy on an 11-yard corner route to put the Chargers ahead 34-14.

Dean’s second 1-yard score capped the Oxford’s visits to the end zone on the night.

The win improves Oxford’s record to 2-2 overall. (September 9, 2011)
