BLOG — CARROLLTON — Water Valley rebounded from a disappointing loss to Charleston last week with a 37-0 win over J.Z. George on Friday night.The Blue Devils scored early and often in the contest as Jarard Williams took the opening kickoff back 98 yards for a touchdown. Water Valley then added a rushing touchdown from Cortaveus Hawkins at the 3:07 mark of the first quarter to take a 14-0 lead.
E.J. Bounds paced the scoring the second quarter as he rushed for a 1-yard touchdown at the 9:53 mark and then found James Washington for a 19-yard touchdown pass to end the scoring in the first half. Alex Robles had a 21-yard field goal in the first half while backup quarterback Jonathan Kent threw a touchdown pass to Elijah Rogers to end the scoring on the night.
