Adamson’s big game nets Player of Week honor

Developing a quarterback at any level of football takes some time. Oxford coach Johnny Hill knew there would be a learning curve at the position this year after Guy Cameron Billups left the system but he felt like his new quarterback, junior Parker Adamson, would step in and fill the role in time.

Adamson has gotten better and better each week and this past Friday night in the first Region 1-5A game of the season, his improvement was really evident. Adamson had his best game as a Charger as he threw a career-high four touchdowns and accounted for five in Oxford’s 34-14 win. The effort led him to this week’s Player of the Week honors, also a first in his career.

Hill said he thought last Friday’s performance was Adamson’s most complete of the year. (September 27, 2011, Page 6)
