The Kennon Observatory on the campus of the University of Mississippi will have an open house starting at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Telescopes will be set up so those attending can look at the Moon, as well as observe star clusters, colorful double stars and the Ring Nebula. If the weather is cloudy or rainy, there can be no observation. Families and children are welcome to this free event.
