Commodores rout Greenwood 42-0

BLOG – A 28-point second quarter paced Lafayette in its 42-0 win over Greenwood on Friday night.Lafayette’s scoring flurry started with a 23-yard interception return by Josh Barry at the 8:31 mark and was capped by a 7-yard TD run from quarterback Jeremy Liggins with 21 seconds left before the half.

In between those two scores, Demarkous and Jamel Dennis each garnered rushing touchdowns. Demarkous Dennis finished the night with three TDs and 160 yards.

The Commdores’ defense garnered five interceptions in the contest while the starting unit has now only allowed three points in the first two contests.

LHS (2-0 overall) returns to action this coming Friday at home against Oxford in the annual Crosstown Classic game. Tickets for the contest will go on sale starting Monday at both schools and University Sporting Goods at a cost of $5.
