Blue Devils pound Yalobusha County rival

BLOG — Water Valley scored early and often in its 63-0 win over Yalobusha County rival Coffeeville on Friday night.The Blue Devils (2-0 overall) led 21-0 at the half and 42-0 by the end of the third quarter. Quarterback E.J. Bounds paced the offense with 117 yards passing and 98 yards on the ground. Bounds threw a 24-yard TD pass to K.J. Lee and added two rushing scores as well.

Jeoffrey Gordon had eight carries for 78 yards and a touchdown, while Elijah Rogers scored the game’s first touchdown on an 80-yard punt return.

It was the second straight shutout for Water Valley’s defense, which blanked Independence 42-0 last week.
