Rebels’ Jackson has big goals for 2011

A strong desire to improve the results of a 4-8 season in 2010 is something the Ole Miss Rebels are looking to achieve this season.

For senior free safety Damien Jackson, the vision for getting the team over the hump and back to a bowl is clear: he has to be a more consistent leader for the defense and team overall.

Constantly challenged by his coaches to be more vocal during the spring, Jackson wants to make more plays. He wants to garner a bevy of interceptions like he did when he was in junior college and he feels a year of experience learning how all the top quarterbacks in the Southeastern Conference play should help him achieve that goal. (July 8, 2011, Page 6A)
