The fall 2011 edition of the Magnolia Cup will be televised by Fox Sports.
Ole Miss will host intrastate rival Mississippi State on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium. The winner will earn the Magnolia Cup given annually to the winning team in the series for both fall and spring matches. The Lady Rebels currently hold the Magnolia Cup after a 2-0 win over the Lady Bulldogs during the spring season.
“We are excited the Magnolia Cup will be televised this year as it is a great rivalry,” Ole Miss coach Matt Mott said. “Having it on TV will allow that many more people to be a part of it.”
Ole Miss appeared on television four times last season and has been on television seven times since 2009.
The Lady Rebels will open the 2011 season with an exhibition game against UT Martin on Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. in Oxford. (July 27, 2011, Page 6A)
