Four Rebs named All-SEC by coaches

BLOG: Earlier today the Southeastern Conference announced its 2011 SEC Coaches Preseason teams. Four Rebels were honored, with LT Bradley Sowell named to the first team, while RT Bobby Massie, DE Kentrell Lockett and P Tyler Campbell were all second-team honorees.

The Rebels finished in a three-way tie with Vanderbilt and Mississippi State for eighth in the conference with four players apiece.

HERE‘s the link to the SEC’s release.

One noticeable omission from an Ole Miss perspective is senior running back Brandon Bolden. The Rebels’ newest movie star was not one of the seven running backs named. Looking at the list, it looks like a deep group of backs, so it was going to be tough to crack the three teams. That being said, should he have after posting 976 yards rushing and 1,320 all-purpose yards in 2010?

What about Jordan Jefferson? Was he worthy of one of the three QB spots?

Anyone else not make it that could have? Biggest surprise? What do you think?

The SEC Media Days begin next Wednesday. Let the fun begin! (July 14, 2011)
