BATESVILLE — Playing fearless in the spring is a result of making mistakes and learning from them during the summer months.
So what if a Blue Devil is doubled up at second base because he didn’t break on a grounder to the left side of the infield?
It’s a summer league game.
It’s no big deal if an up-and-comer is caught snoozing and is picked off of first base.
Why? Because it’s a summer league game.
Make those same mistakes during the spring, and that same Blue Devil will surely be getting an ear full. (June 1, 2011, Page 6)
