Former standout Madison Central receiver Tobias Singleton confirmed via text message Monday evening that he has qualified to enroll at Ole Miss with an ACT score of 24.
Singleton added that he’s “probably” going to enroll in summer school on Wednesday.
As a senior for the Jaguars, Singleton caught 50 passes for 730 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also rushed for 383 yards and six scores. As a junior, Singleton caught 55 passes for 890 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Singleton, listed at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, is expected to compete for immediate playing time in an Ole Miss passing attack that averaged 192.2 yards per game, eighth in the Southeastern Conference.
The Jackson Clarion-Ledger was the first to report Singleton achieved eligibility.
Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt did not return a text message seeking confirmation.
Ole Miss begins summer camp July 23 and will open its season at home against BYU Sept. 3. (June 28, 2011, Page 6)
