Ole Miss’ nearly month-long search for its next softball coach may be nearing a conclusion.
“We hope to extend an offer here within the next couple of days and have it wrapped up by the end of the week,” said Ole Miss Senior Executive Associate Athletics Director John Hartwell, who has been leading the search committee since it was announced on May 9 that Missy Dickerson’s contract would not be renewed.
According to Hartwell, Ole Miss utilized other softball coaches, Olympians, television commentators and “people in the softball world,” to narrow the applicant pool and single out three finalists. (June 21, 2011, Page 6)
