One minute you have it and the next it’s just a memory.
That’s how the Ole Miss Diamond Rebels felt on Thursday night following their 7-6 loss to Mississippi State.
Aided by a four-error performance by the Rebels, the Bulldogs overcame Ole Miss’ three-run seventh by posting one of their own in the next frame to earn the narrow win at Oxford-University Stadium.
“We went from one end of the spectrum to the other pretty quick,” Ole Miss second baseman Alex Yarbrough said. “I thought we had all the momentum in the world going into the eighth, but you have to give credit to them.
“They came up with a few hits, strung it together and got a few runs.” (May 13, 2011, Page 6A)
