Aided by scoreless relief pitching from John Allen Lagrone, the Buckman Cardinals snuck past the First National Bank Tigers in the Oxford Park Commission’s Under-10 baseball league on Thursday evening at FNC Park.
In the other U-10 game, the Tannehill, Carmean & McKenzie, PLLC Cubs cruised to a 11-13 victory over the Rainbow Cleaners Rays.
In the U-9 league, the Ligon Oral Surgery Rangers knocked off the Hinton & Hinton Cubs 13-4 and the Holcomb Dunbar Attorneys Cardinals defeated the Oxford Plastic Surgery Red Sox 10-7.
In the 11-12 league, the Oxford Dental Cardinals defeated the Smoothie King Phillies 3-2 and the Smith Building Supply Red Sox defeated the Old Taylor Antiques Giants 3-2.
In the 13-15 league, the Braves snuck past the Mississippi Auto Arms Twins 7-5 and the Farese Family Dental Brewers cruised to a 16-0 victory over the Oxford Eye Clinic Rangers.
In the 9-10 OPC softball league, Chandler Motor Co. blanked Community Trust Bank 10-0, and in the 11-12 league, Taco Bell edged Zaxby’s 18-17.
