Wright, Rebs come alive to avoid sweep

When his team needed him the most Ole Miss starter Austin Wright delivered with one of his “on” days.

Facing its first Southeastern Conference series sweep since Auburn took three in Oxford last May, Wright limited Georgia to three runs in 6.0 innings to help the Rebels earn a 12-7 victory at Oxford-University Stadium.
Entering Sunday’s game, Wright had been inconsistent over the course of his last three starts, sandwiching his eight-inning scoreless gem at Tennessee between two difficult outings against Alabama and LSU in which he didn’t make it out of the fourth inning.

Against the Bulldogs, Wright was able to command the strike zone and limited Georgia to three runs over 6.0 innings, allowing nine hits and one walk while also striking out nine. (April 11, 2011, Page 1B)
