Wahl promoted to role as Rebels’ closer

As it turns out Bobby Wahl’s appearance at the end of Sunday’s victory was somewhat of a tryout.

Sunday’s ninth inning performance wasn’t a save situation, but with Jake Morgan’s future still uncertain and the struggles of Brett Huber at the end of games, Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco wanted to see how the Virginia native could handle pitching at the end of games.
Despite surrendering two runs Bianco liked what he saw from Wahl, who consistently hit 95 miles per hour on the stadium’s radar gun. (April 12, 2011, Page 1B)
