Rebels get commits from Tiger standouts

Ole Miss secured its second and third commitments for the 2012 signing class from standout football players in less than a week on Tuesday when South Panola’s Temario Strong and Isaac Gross verbally pledged to play for the Rebels.
Strong is a 6-foot-1, 220-pound outside linebacker prospect who also had offers from Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Alabama and LSU, among others.

Strong is the nephew of former standout linebacker Eddie Strong and a cousin to another former Rebel, defensive tackle Chris Strong. Last season Strong led the nation’s best high school team with 14.5 sacks and made 69 total tackles.

Gross, meanwhile, is a 6-2, 245-pound defensive end/tackle prospect who garnered 10 sacks last year and 75 tackles. Gross listed other offers from Mississippi State, Tennessee and Southern Miss. (April 27, 2011, Page 8)
