Rangers split with Northeast

The Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers moved back into a tie with Holmes on Monday thanks to a split with Northeast in Booneville.
Former Water Valley standout Tank Hervey earned the win on the mound in the Rangers’ 14-0 win over the Tigers. NECC then took the second game, 4-3, to leave the Rangers 16-6 in the North Division.

Hervey only gave up one hit and struck out eight in 5.0 innings of work to improve to 7-1 on the year.

Another area player, Lafayette’s Luke McCullough, scored two runs in the victory. NWCC will end the regular season Saturday at home with a doubleheader against ICC starting at 1 p.m. (April 26, 2011, Page 7)
