The middle school baseball regular season has come to a close and heading into the start of the playoffs for area teams. Oxford won the regular season title in the Tri-Lakes Conference with a perfect 5-0 record. The Chargers are the No. 1 seed in the single-elimination tournament that begins Thursday. Oxford will play the winner of the Water Valley-South Panola contest at 7 at Edwin Moak Field. Lafayette, the No. 2 seed this year, will host Marshall Academy at 5 p.m. in the other playoff contest. The winners of Thursday’s games will meet for the title Monday. (April 12, 2011, Page 2B)
