A dream of swimming in college was fulfilled Tuesday for Oxford High’s Nicole Robinson. Robinson signed her letter of intent with Delta State in the OHS library capping a career that included being a part of a last year’s state championship squad.
Robinson is expected to compete in the butterfly events and sprint freestyle at Delta State. She capped a successful high school career this past fall by finishing seventh in the 100-meter backstroke and the 100 butterfly at the MHSAA state meet in Biloxi where the Lady Chargers won the state title.
Since that point in her career, Robinson has been looking at schools and after a visit to Cleveland two weekends ago, Robinson found her place. (April 27, 2011, Page 9)
