No. 1 seed OMS Chargers defeat South Panola

Led by the pitching of right-hander Houston Roth and an abundance of offense the Oxford Middle School Chargers rolled past the South Panola Tigers 11-2 on Thursday at Edwin Moak Field.

The win propelled the Junior Chargers (10-3 overall) into Monday’s Tri-Lakes Conference championship game against Lafayette.
After getting off to a slow start in the first inning on offense, the Chargers regrouped and were able to score four runs on four hits and two errors in the second inning.

In the third inning Oxford pushed its lead to 7-2 after the first four batters reached base safely on three singles and a walk. (April 15, 2011, Page 6A)
