On Saturday Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco voiced a need for the bullpen to step up and show the ability to preserve leads.
Help may be on the way in the form of a familiar face as Ole Miss senior Jake Morgan appears to have taken another step — or pitch —towards making his return to the mound.
After throwing several times at Auburn this past weekend — including a brief bullpen and again from 300 feet — the former Rebel closer threw a pain-free bullpen prior to Ole Miss’ practice on Monday.
His most recent bullpen session was “basically at full speed” according Bianco, and if Morgan continues to show improvement, there’s a good chance he could take the mound in some capacity this weekend when Ole Miss travels to Florida. (April 27, 2011, Page 8)
