PEARL — Amidst chants of “MAROON. WHITE. MAROON. WHITE.” and the clanging of cowbells the final two Ole Miss batters were retired at Trustmark Park on Tuesday night.
Mississippi State fans had plenty of reasons to cause a comotion after earning a 6-1 victory over the Rebels to re-claim the Governor’s Cup trophy for the first time since 2009.
For the Rebels, however, Tuesday’s loss was just another error-filled loss as three blunders led directly to two Bulldog runs.
In the eight games since Ole Miss didn’t commit an error in an 8-2 loss to Memphis at AutoZone Park on April 10, the Rebels have committed 20 errors and had just one clean day in the field. (April 20, 2011, Page 4B)
