BLOG: Ole Miss men’s basketball coach Andy Kennedy announced a couple of changes to his coaching staff this afternoon.In is Middle Tennessee State’s Al Pinkins, promoted is Bill Armstong, who served on the staff as the coordinator of basketball operations and out is Torrey Ward, who Kennedy said in release was seeking other coaching opportunities. The only holdover from last year’s coaching staff currently is Owen Miller as Michael White left last month to take the head coaching position at Louisiana Tech.
Pinkins served on Kermit Davis’ staff at MTSU for eight years and has recruited the state of Mississippi. He is a graduate of N.C. State and played professionally in the USBL and in Spain.
Armstrong has been on Kennedy’s staff the past five seasons. He was an assistant coach for three years prior to his arrival in Oxford at Birmingham Southern and has also been an assistant in the junior college ranks at Chipola in Marianna, Fl. (April 11, 2011)
