A gritty pitching effort by Hunt Halford and steady production on offense were just two of the reasons the Oxford Chargers are feeling a little better about their baseball future today.
Halford and OHS turned in one of the best all-around performances of the season on Tuesday night against West Point at Edwin Moak Field. The end result was an 11-2 win over the Green Wave, and more importantly, a little leeway in the division race for the first time all season.
The Chargers are now 3-2 in Division 2-5A play and one game up on one of their three opponents in the race for two playoff spots, something that hasn’t happened in the previous couple of weeks. (April 6, 2011, Page 6)
