Commodores awarded title rings

An offseason that has been filled with preparations for the future was briefly interrupted on Friday for the Lafayette High football team.

The team that won the school’s first state football title got together one more time as a group to celebrate the lofty accomplishments of 2010 with a ring ceremony in the LHS gym.
After snacking on pizza, deserts and drinks, LHS coach Anthony Hart distributed the bevy of rings to his players and members of his staff who helped lead the Commodores to a 16-0 record and Class 4A title.

After each player’s name was called, a picture was taken to help those in attendance document the important moment and special accomplishment.

For senior linebacker Kris Miller, the ring signified the hard work the Commodores put in during the past season. (April 11, 2011, Page 4B)
