Less than a week after capturing the EAGLE Invitational, the Oxford boys and girls track teams headed out of town for the first time this year to compete at the Mississippi State Bulldog High School Invitational.
Oxford’s boys finished with 55 points, third out of 34 high schools that scored points. The Lady Chargers also had a strong showing Saturday as they finished with 31 points, good for seventh place out of 33 teams that scored. (A total of 44 teams competed on the boys side, but only 34 scored points). High school teams from around the state, as well as Tennessee and Alabama, took part in the meet.
Sam Kendricks and Justin Fondren continued to lead the Chargers in the meet, but they were joined by a handful of other successful finishes in both field and running events. (April 4, 2011, Page 8A)
