Call for help

Damage assessments from Wednesday’s powerful series of storms that moved across Lafayette County are still being done, but it appears as if the Pine Flat community, located  just south of the Highway 7/9 split on Hwy. 9 W. was the hardest hit. The residents of this area could use your help. The Pine Flat United Methodist Church on CR 422 is being used as the staging area for the Red Cross, but volunteers are needed to assist them. Also, donations of bottled water and pre-made foods would be appreciated. For more information, call Pastor Gene Bramlett at 832-6616. The church, like everyone else out there, doesn’t have power, but will serve as the focal point for assisting the Pine Flat community during daylight hours. (April 28, 2011)
