As a former resident of Oxford I would enjoy reading the complete stories on the Oxford Eagle Web-site. Apparently I must subscribe to do so. But why should I. With very little effort I can find the stories on the Daily Mississippian or Tupelo Daily Journal Websites. You are cutting your own throat.

Why should they provide you with a free service? Would you expect them to open all their newspaper boxes and let people get free papers? How about all the businesses in Oxford giving you free merchandise from their stores too? The Eagle is a business set out to make a profit, not a public entity to provide a free product. Would you be willing to work for nothing day in and day out? I think the monthly subscription price is fair. I’ll never understand why everybody on the internet thinks that everything on the internet should be free. Befuddling.
