Sullivan living his dream at Alabama

A dream to play baseball in the Southeastern Conference has already been realized for former Oxford High standout Charley Sullivan. Now, the former Charger will get his chance to build on that dream by playing against the team he grew up watching, the Ole Miss Rebels, this weekend at Oxford-University Stadium as a relief pitcher for the Alabama Crimson Tide.Sullivan, a sophomore, started his college career out of OHS at Northwest Mississippi Community College. After a solid year in Senatobia, he found his way to Tuscaloosa, Ala., over the summer after being recruited by former Ole Miss assistant coach Kyle Bunn, who was the Crimson Tide’s pitching coach last year. Sullivan said everything clicked into place for him after the Crimson Tide got back from playing in last year’s NCAA Super Regional. (March 18, 2011, Page 7A)
