Rebels rally to beat Vandy

The Ole Miss men’s tennis team bounced back from Friday’s loss to Kentucky to start Southeastern Conference play by shutting out No. 22 Vanderbilt 4-0 at the Gillom Sports Center Sunday. With the win, the Rebels improved to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in the SEC, while Vanderbilt dropped to 8-4 overall and 0-2 in league play.

“It was big because of the loss on Friday. It really showed a lot of character with the team. We had great senior leadership, and beat a very good Vanderbilt team,” Chadwick said. “Kalle and Tucker both did an outstanding job today. They’ve been battling injuries, and I am extremely proud of them today. Marcel is getting better with every match. He was coming back from an injury over Christmas where he cut his hand and had to sit out for three or four weeks. He’s just now getting back to the form where he was last spring, and we’re excited to see that.” (March 7, 2011, Page 8A)
