BLOG — The Ole Miss men’s basketball team will continue its season after being selected to play in the Men’s National Invitation Tournament Sunday night.The Rebels were awarded a No. 5 seed in the tournament and will travel to play at No. 4 seed California on Wednesday. The game can be seen locally on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. The Rebels (20-13) are making their second consecutive trip to the NIT and fourth in the the past five seasons under coach Andy Kennedy, who led the Rebels to the NIT Final Four last season.
Cal, a member of the Pac-10 conference, enters Wednesday’s game with a 17-14 mark. The winner of Wednesday’s game will play either No. 1 seed Colorado or No. 8 Texas Southern in the second round. (March 13, 2011)
