Former Lafayette High standout Stormy Robison helped lift Northwest Mississippi Community College to two wins over Holmes in women’s softball action Wednesday and a split with Northeast on Thursday. Robison, last season’s EAGLE Player of the Year, picked up a two-run single in the Lady Rangers’ 8-0 win over Holmes in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader as well as two runs scored. In Northwest’s 7-1 win in the nightcap, Robison scored a run and recorded a putout playing right field. The two wins Wednesday improved the Lady Rangers’ winning streak to eight. Northeast defeated NWCC 3-2 in the first game of the doubleheader Thursday, but won 4-2 in the nightcap. Robison recorded a hit and scored a run in the first game, while she had a putout in right field in the second game. (March 25, 2011, Page 8A)
