Bulldogs’ Beaty baffles Blue Devils

Getting hits and scoring runs hasn’t been too much of a problem for the Water Valley Blue Devil baseball team so far this season. That was until Tuesday night when New Albany pitcher Tyler Beaty held WVHS to just three hits and two runs in a 5-2 victory at Oxford High’s Edwin Moak Field. While Beaty wasn’t as sharp as he was in his 16-strikeout performance against Tupelo last weekend, his ability to mix his speeds and bear down against batters at just the right times baffled the normally potent Blue Devils, who scored 21 runs in their most recent game and scored double-digit runs in three other contests this year. (March 16, 2011, Page 7)
