Abundance of errors dooms Chargers

Committing five errors in a single game is going to make for a long evening for any team.

The Oxford Chargers found that out the hard way on Tuesday, falling to Saltillo 14-4 in five innings at Edwin Moak Field due in large part to a difficult day in the field.
The game started off great for the Chargers as starter Zac Barber pitched a scoreless first and senior third baseman Shae Mnichowski led off the bottom of the frame with a home run over the left field wall.

Oxford added one more run in the inning, but about that time is when the game turned south.

With Hunt Halford at the plate, both William Elliott and Guy Cameron Billups were thrown out trying to steal third and second on two separate pitches. (March 30, 2011, Page 7)
