All three area high school baseball teams concluded their preseasons in successful fashion on Saturday. In Horn Lake’s jamboree, the Oxford Chargers finished 2-0 with a 10-6 win over Senatobia and a 7-4 win over host school Horn Lake.The Lafayette Commodores and Water Valley Blue Devils each finished 1-1 in the WVHS jamboree. Lafayette defeated Independence 6-4 and lost to Grenada 12-6, while the Blue Devils topped Independence 6-1 before losing to New Albany 4-3 in Saturday’s nightcap. (February 21, 2011, Page 8)
