Three Chargers sign with NWCC Rangers

Oxford’s success on the football field this season has led to a bevy of scholarship offers for numerous players. Leading the signing parade Wednesday were wide receiver DeShaun McNeal and tight end Larry Pettis, who both signed with Louisiana-Lafayette.

OHS quarterback Guy Cameron Billups has secured an offer to attend Rice, while five other Chargers are headed to the junior college ranks.

Northwest Mississippi Community College, the program that can protect players from the area, ended up signing offensive lineman Terry Johnson (6-foot-1, 290-pounds), linebacker Demarius Pegues (5-11, 205 pounds) and his twin brother, middle linebacker Demarcus Pegues (5-11, 240).

Two other players — Monquarious Gipson and Tre’ Carothers — both signed with Northeast and Itawamba respectively. (February 3, 2011, Page 7)
