Rebels show grit in win over Tigers

Two weeks ago, a subpar shooting performance would have likely resulted in a loss for the Ole Miss men’s basketball team. But thanks to recent wins over a ranked Kentucky team and road win at Arkansas, the new-look Rebels were able to grind out a 66-60 victory over LSU on Thursday night despite shooting just 38.9 percent from the floor. With several inches of snow on the ground outside C.M. “Tad” Smith Coliseum, and a sparse crowd of just 2,112 in attendance, Ole Miss struggled to do much on offense until the end of the game when performance mattered the most. Led by seniors Chris Warren, who finished with 26 points, and Zach Graham, who had 17, the Rebels won their third-straight Southeastern Conference game by digging deep on defense and hitting clutch shots in the final few minutes. (February 10, 2011, Page 6)
