Lindsey Perry gave up two runs and struck out six over 4.1 innings as the Ole Miss softball team earned a 4-2 win over Southeast Missouri State to close out the 2011 Red and Blue Classic on Sunday at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. Ole Miss went 2-3 overall in the touranment earning a 4-3 win over Austin Peay in eight innings on Friday before losing to South Alabama 10-2, Louisiana Tech 6-4 and Western Kentucky 9-3 on Saturday.
Ole Miss (5-11) got RBIs from four different players — Corrine Doornberg, Brittany Broome, Londen Ladner and Cali Overbeck — in Sunday’s win.
Perry went 4.1 innings in the circle, scattering five hits and walking only one to improve to 3-3 on the year. Kendall Bruning pitched 2.2 scoreless innings of relief and picked up her first save of the year.
Ole Miss will be back in action Tuesday with a home doubleheader against Alcorn State starting at 2 p.m. (February 28, 2011, Page 8)
