Head hopeful to re-invent himself

This weekend standouts from Ole Miss’ past will flood Oxford for the program’s first Alumni Game, pitting professionals against the current squad.

While many of the former Rebels will be looking to have a good time and re-connect with former teammates, one in particular will have a bit more in mind.

Stephen Head, the 2003 National Freshman of the Year and the Rebels’ only three-time All-American, is looking forward to catching up with his buddies like the rest of the guys, but he’s also viewing this weekend as a business trip.

After spending last season with the Southern Illinois Minors of the Frontier League, and the previous five seasons climbing to the top of the Cleveland Indians’ minor league system, Head is looking to re-invent himself as a pitcher. (February 4, 2011, Page 6A)
