Former Charger shines in SEC meet

Former Oxford High track standout Horatio Williams helped lead the LSU Tigers to a third-place finish at the Southeastern Conference’s Indoor Track Championships held over the weekend at Arkansas. Williams garnered 12 combined points in the 60 meter dash and 200. Williams finished in third place in both events. He ran the 60 in 6.67 seconds and the 200 in 20.83.

The Tigers totaled 98 points in the meet. Florida won the overall men’s title with 148 points, while Arkansas was second with 136.5 points. (February 28, 2011, Page 8)
