Mississippi State’s first verbal football commitment for the 2011 signing class turned into one of the latest commitments for the Ole Miss Rebels Tuesday afternoon.Philadelphia linebacker C.J. Johnson (6-foot-3, 243-pounds, 4.63 seconds in the 40-yard dash) publicly committed to the Rebels just days after returning from Oxford on his official visit to Ole Miss.
The five-star prospect is regarded as the second best inside linebacker in the nation and he helps serve a huge need for the Rebels on defense in the coming years. Johnson, who was debating whether or not to official visit LSU this upcoming weekend, talked highly about the connection he developed with Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt in recent weeks and how much he enjoyed his recent visit, which he described as “awesome” and “way better” than his trip to Starkville earlier this month.
