Rebel football recruit facing criminal charges

One of the state’s best offensive players has suddenly found himself on the defensive after an arrest stemming from a dispute over a month ago.

Madison Central wide receiver Tobias Singleton, an Ole Miss verbal commitment for the 2011 signing class, is in the process of defending his future after being charged with felony malicious mischief and simple assault.Singleton, who is listed by his birth name, Tobias Manning, on the arrest report, turned himself into police authorities on Jan. 14 after a warrant was issued for his arrest by the Flora Police Department. Singleton bonded out shortly after being taken into custody and faces a date in court. (January 26, 2011, Page 6)
