Oxford teams still working out the kinks

Going down the home stretch of their regular season schedules, both Oxford’s boys and girls hoops squads are happy to have earned victories over Saltillo at home on Tuesday.

But neither the Chargers in their 71-54 victory, nor the Lady Chargers in their 62-52 victory, played complete games.OHS girls coach Shayne Linzy made it clear he was proud of his team’s ability to pull out the win to improve to 19-2 overall and 4-0 in Division 1-5A, but he also made it clear his team needs to make improvements sooner rather than later.

On Tuesday, Linzy said the Lady Chargers played for “two and a half quarters.” (January 26, 2011, Page 6)
