Oxford forward Shea Mnichowski had an idea of how many goals he wanted to score heading into Thursday night’s Class 5A playoff game with Saltillo at Bobby Holcomb Field.
Mnichowski said he told Chargers coach Jamie Perkins that if he scored four goals, he wanted to score five before being lifted from the game in order to play a younger member of the team.The senior ultimately got his wish as he ended up scoring five goals, including three in the first seven minutes of action, in Oxford’s 11-1 win over Saltillo.
