A night that was meant to honor Lafayette’s seniors was severely dampened by the visiting Center Hill soccer squads as the Mustangs claimed a lopsided 15-1 victory in the boys showdown and the Lady Mustangs surged late to defeat LHS 2-1.Hampered by the soggy field that slowed the pace of the game considerably, the girls game remained scoreless until the 6:50 mark of the second half when Center Hill’s Kelly Loveless lofted a shot just over Lafayette goalkeeper Jamie Williams to break the tie.
That’s when the game’s pace picked up. (January 19, 2011, Page 7)
