Lafayette’s girls basketball team lost its second district game in the same week Friday with a 58-51 setback to Byhalia. Nikki McChristian led LHS with a double-double (11 points and 11 rebounds), while Brianna Fisher had 13 points and five rebounds. Shaquilla Isom had 11 points and six rebounds. The Lady Commodores were outscored 14-7 in the second quarter and 18-12 in the third. Freshman Janae Westbrook came into the lineup in the fourth quarter had five assists and a key 3-pointer as LHS was able to outscore Byhalia 21-16 in the quarter. LHS was scheduled to be back in action at North Panola, but the games are likely to be moved due to the recent snowfall. (January 10, 2011, Page 7)
